Church End Brewery

A dark ale for the dark winter nights, harking back to the not-so-legal, behind-the-curtain areas of C19th Victorian fairs. We launched Sideshow Ale with an intriguing gallery of period characters including the Amazing Tobias Tweet (a gentleman whose elongated nose doubles as a canary perch), the Incredible Solomon Scales (a retired seafarer whose prolonged exposure to sea spray led to a unique piscine evolutionary anomaly) and the Mysterious Petra Popyernogginov (an Eastern European lady possessing the handy ability to trim her toenails with her teeth, courtesy of a detachable head). We then commissioned a glass artist to design a limited run of freakish bottles for the gasp-inducing dark ale and help push the draught product. True to the concept of the ale, each was a freakish curiosity in its own right.
